Jul 30, 2014 · I also checked the ECU to make sure it had proper voltage, It had 12V on cable at pins 119, 120 and 7v at pin 109. I went back to 109 source, and check at the fuse panel, finding 12V. I replaced the same fuse, checked 109 again, now 12V, probably bad ground when I first checked.
Also, having the front diff unplugged and not blowing the fuse tells me that the short/issue is somewhere between the front diff connector and the front diff itself. I have inspected those wires the best I can without taking the front diff out and have not found any issues.
Jan 13, 2009 · If you can start and run the bike, but when you shut down you can't start it again, you have an intermittent short that is blowing the fuse while you're riding due to vibration... the fuse blows, but the bike will still run from voltage from the charging system (which is after the fuse).
Oct 23, 2016 · If the ECM fuse keeps blowing, then there is a definite electrical short. Most of the time the short is in the ECM, but it may have a short in the wiring going to it. I usually isolate it by going through the wiring schematic and disconnecting areas of the circuit until I find the short.

Check the appropriate fuses before replacing any electrical components. Note : Always replace a fuse with one that has the specified amperage rating. Using a fuse with a higher amperage rating can cause severe wire damage and could start a fire. Sep 03, 2014 · My ECU failed in one of the fuel injector firing circuits. It ended up being the ECU failure after about 6 weeks of various bad starts and running problems. The guy who sold me the replacement ECU said the early VZ ECUs 2004/2005 had a problem with failing to start after overnight or after a week or two of downtime.
The camshaft position sensor (CMP) isn't on the ECU (under-hood fuse #6) fuse bus. It's on the under-dash #4 fuse bus. If there was a problem with the CMP, I expect the ECU would set P0340 or P0344 codes. You sure it was the CMP that you thought was causing the problem? The crankshaft position sensor, CKP, is on the under-hood fuse #6 bus.

You may just use a paper clip as a jumper wire although it is not recommended in the routine. When installing a fuse of a larger capacity, it would not blow as easily as a higher rating. It might cause the item(s) that it is supposed to protect to blow instead. That is the reason fuses must not be of a higher rating than it is recommended. The ECU fuse is for the Engine control and many other sub components.

Feb 04, 2010 · When engine is running, however, Fuse 2 should be supplying the majority of the current, from the output from the R/R. There should only be smaller current flowing backwards through fuse 3 into the battery. So odd that fuse 2 would be one to blow (unless 2 is also gone, or you have insufficient voltage/current out of the R/R) 2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling the cover up. 3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel. 4. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
